Bob Stough is a 3rd generation driver. His grandfather, Pius Stough, raced during the 60's at Boiling Spring Speedway. His father, Larry Stough Sr, raced Go Carts at Hunterstown Speedway.
Bob began his racing career with his brother Larry in 1985. The Stough boys starting racing Go Carts at Hunterstown and Shippensburg Speedway in Central Pennsylvania. Bob raced for 17 years in the World Carting Series.
In 2003 Bob moved up to the Street Stock division. During the 2004 seasonhe earned 4 wins, 16 top 5's and 19 top 10's on the way to his first place finish in the championship standings at Trailways Speedway in Littlestown, PA.
Following his success in 2004 Bob graduated to the Thundercar Division. In his first year he earned Rookie of the Year at Lincol n Speedway in Abbottstown, PA. Bob finished 8th in the championship points in his first year.
In 2006 Bob pulled double duty between Lincoln and Trailways. At Lincoln Speedway he earned 1 top 5 and 13 top 10 finishes and finished 9thin the points. He finished 12th in points at Trailway Speedway.
2007 was Bob's best Thundercar season thus far. In his 30 starts in 2007 Bob came home with 5 wins, 13 top 5's and 23 top 10's. Bob also had 10 heat wins and finished 2nd in points at Trail-Way Speedway.
Bob's ultimate goal in racing was to have a Late Model program and in 2008 that goal was achieved. Running the 07 Limited Late Model Bob debuted his new car at Lincoln Speedway on April 5, 2008 and finished 9th, his very first time in the Late Model. As the season went on, Bob continued to learn the Late Model but it came with limited success. 2009 is his second full season in the Late Model and the team is still learning all of the intricacies to the race car.
